Harshini Meegaswatte
Harshini Meegaswatte is a PhD candidate at the University of Canberra, specializing in functional foods and nutraceuticals for improving cardiometabolic health in postmenopausal women. She is a Registered Dietitian and Registered Nutritionist in Sri Lanka and is currently progressing toward Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) status in Australia.
Harshini holds an MSc in Food and Nutrition and a BSc Special Degree in Food Science and Nutrition with First Class performance. She brings over 17 years of clinical and community nutrition experience, having served as a Senior Dietitian and Nutritionist across major hospitals in Sri Lanka. She also has extensive teaching experience as a visiting lecturer, dietetic trainer, and examiner since 2007, and has contributed widely to public health education through newspaper articles, TV programs, and radio discussions in Sri Lanka.
She currently works as a Nutrition–Allied Health Assistant at Canberra Health Services and as a Casual Academic at the University of Canberra. Her research portfolio includes first-author publications in Nutrients and Reviews in Cardiovascular Medicine.
Harshini is passionate about the role of nutrition and dietetics in preventive health and complementary therapy and is committed to advancing functional food innovation and clinical nutrition to improve metabolic health.
