E Clarke

E Clarke is an Honours student in Public Health and Health Promotion at Deakin University, with a multidisciplinary background in nutrition science, global health, and community advocacy. They hold a Bachelor of Nutrition Science from Deakin and studied at the International Medical University (Malaysia) as a New Colombo Plan Scholar during these studies, developing expertise in cross-cultural health systems. Their professional experience includes roles as a Nutrition Communication Consultant with the Heights and Minds Foundation, collaborating with UNICEF and the Malaysian Ministry of Health on maternal-child nutrition initiatives, and an internship with the United Nations University’s International Institute for Global Health (UNU-IIGH) during this scholarship. They contributed to community advocacy roles at Darebin Food Relief, LGBTI+ advocacy as the DUSA Queer Student Representative from 2022-2023, and health education as a Food Science teaching assistant at secondary schools in Perth, WA, and Mount Waverly, VIC. They aim to bridge their grassroots advocacy experience with the policy engagement and research skills developed during their Honours program, pursuing a career in applied epidemiology to improve public health outcomes, particularly in food security and nutrition.
