Joshua JB Bowles

Joshua Bowles is an Honours graduate in Nutrition and Dietetics from Griffith University and a qualified chef with 10+ years’ experience. While on placement in Alice Springs, he worked alongside First Nations community on QI evaluation for a continuing diabetes self-management group program for remote communities, informed by local food-systems and food insecurity realities experienced by remote communities. His Honours research examined hospital food waste donation practices, identifying both staff and system level enablers and barriers to inform food service improvement and sustainability. Joshua currently works in texture-modified (IDDSI) meal production supplying hospitals and residential aged care facilities. In 2025 he will commence as a Research Assistant with Griffith University and The Prince Charles Hospital, contributing to implementation research on nutrition care and post-discharge models, including ethics/governance, data collection and management, stakeholder engagement, and dissemination. His interests include malnutrition care across transitions of care, health-system design, qualitative and mixed-methods approaches, and the translation of research into routine practice to improve access, equity, and sustainability in healthcare.
