Michael Ryoo
Michael Ryoo is currently a PhD candidate at the Centre of Nutrition and Food Sciences, Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation in the University of Queensland. He belongs to the multispecies nutrition research group led by Professor Eugeni Roura, who is his principal advisor. Michael’s thesis research project investigates the dietary patterns and molecular mechanisms implicated in acute appendicitis, an inflammatory condition of the lower gut. His main research interests lie in understanding how dietary behaviour and nutritional status can be targeted in genetically predisposed populations, to minimise and remediate adverse outcomes in the gastrointestinal tract.
